The HKU Foundation Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at the Foundation Chamber, marking a vibrant gathering of Foundation Members.
Following the AGM, President and Vice Chancellor Professor Zhang Xiang delivered an inspiring presentation on the University’s latest achievements and strategic vision. Professor Zhang announced, “The University of Hong Kong has once again secured its position as the second highest-ranked university in Asia in the 2025 QS Asia University Rankings. This accolade reflects our unwavering dedication to excellence. We are committed to establishing HKU as a world-leading institution that excels not only in teaching, research, and innovation but also in creating meaningful societal impact—shaping a brighter future for generations to come.”
Professor Zhang also expressed profound gratitude to the Foundation Members, emphasizing the transformative power of philanthropy. “In 2024, over 1,500 donors and Foundation Members contributed a historic HK$912 million in total donations. Your support is the cornerstone of our progress, enabling groundbreaking initiatives that empower students, fuel pioneering research, and drive innovation. Together, we are building a legacy of excellence that extends far beyond our campuses.”
The AGM served as a testament to the strength of the HKU community and the shared vision of its supporters.
