Geared to attract local and non-local students pursuing full-time undergraduate degrees at HKU on the basis of students’ academic performance. This type of scholarship is usually renewable, subject to satisfactory academic performance, until the students complete their studies within the normative period of study.

Recognise the achievement of students with outstanding overall performance in a particular faculty or study programme or under a particular major of studies.

E.g. Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law, etc.

Encourage students to take part in a wide range of learning activities.

E.g. Academic exchange, study tours, internships, research fellowships, service learning or volunteering.

Enable the University to attract high-calibre students to pursue research postgraduate studies and to raise its research capabilities.
