Bricks Campaign encourages support to the building of the Centennial Campus. A brick with an engraved personalised message will be installed in a new landscaped area at the new campus. These special dedications are perfect ways to share, inform and inspire others.
From the Pan family with three members who attended HKU. They wanted to give back to their alma mater to show their gratitude.
Alumna and HKU staffer, Brenda Ng (BA 1988, MPhil 1996) and her alumnus husband, Kevin Leung (BEng 1992), wanted to ensure their uncles would forever be a part of the University. The names of the three uncles, all alumni from the 1950s, will be engraved on a brick which will be joined on the wall with another brick bearing the names of Brenda and Kevin.
“I come from a grassroots family in Sham Shui Po and, although I have just graduated recently, I would like to donate to the Bricks Campaign from my limited savings. My alma mater was a gift to me and I hope my contribution will provide that same gift to others.”
John Lee, a 2006 Science graduate, actively participates as a Green Gown Guide with the Campus Tour programme. He wanted to pay tribute to his parents by leaving a mark on the HKU campus.
Mrs Marina Choa dedicated a brick to her husband, Dr John Choa (BArch 1957, Hon DSocSc 2003). It is hoped that Dr Choa will be forever remembered for his devotion to the University at the new campus.
