He is well known internationally for his research on novel echocardiographic imaging techniques in the assessment of right ventricular function and right-left heart interaction, contributions to the emerging field of paediatric cardio-oncology, the discovery of vascular dysfunction in high-risk paediatric populations, and the definition of premature vasculopathy and genetic susceptibility in Kawasaki disease. His research has led to a paradigm shift in the non-invasive echocardiographic assessment of children with congenital and acquired heart disease.
