Professor Tso obtained her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree with Distinction in Special Studies from King's College, University of London. She is a developmental behavioral paediatrician with research focuses on developmental disorders, including Autism, ADHD, and childhood brain injuries. As a dedicated scholar, she has published in high-impact journals, advocating for early interventions and support for children with neuro-disabilities. One of her notable contributions to the field of Developmental Paediatrics is the validation of the Griffiths Development Scales – Chinese (GDS-C). The GDS-C is a major developmental assessment tool for diagnosing children with developmental delay and is utilized in over 100 cities across China.
Professor Tso is a compassionate clinician committed to translating her research into meaningful clinical outcomes. She pioneers and leads the Paediatric Acquired Brain Injury Program at both the Duchess of Kent Children's Hospital and the Hong Kong Children's Hospital. Internationally, she serves as a Governor of the International Brain Injury Association (IBIA) and as a Director of the International Paediatric Brain Injury Society (IPBIS). Locally, she has played a key role in designing the parenting curriculum framework for the Education Bureau of the Government of the HKSAR, aimed at promoting the well-being and optimal development of young children in Hong Kong. Professor Tso has been recognised with multiple awards, including the prestigious 2020 Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award.
As Assistant Dean of community engagement, LKS Faculty of Medicine, the University of Hong Kong (HKU), she nurtures partnerships between HKU and community stakeholders, leveraging academic expertise and research to maximise societal impact.
